Punk rock candy heroes Chaos UK began its recollective journey in 1979, with a wit consisting of vocaliser Simon, guitarist Andy, bassist Kaos, and drummer Potts. They finally signed with Riot City Records and released deuce 7" records in 1982. That same year, they released an eponymic LP with a slimly different card. Kaos had moved to vocals, and young members Spot and Nige took over on drums and bass, respectively. They leftfield the label before long after and disappeared until 1984's Lawless Britain, in any case known as Short Sharp Shock, which came out on Children of the Revolution Records. They as well had a young lineup at this point, at present featuring isaac Bashevis Singer Mower, drummer Chuck, guitar player Gabba, and Kaos. An interesting minor disputation would end point role from this album, as Michelle Shocked would release an album called Short Sharp Shocked with virtually the same pass over graphics, often to the band's discouragement. The menu actually lasted to the following album, 1986's Radioactive Earslaughter, which came out at the same time as a split saucer with Extreme Noise Terror. Without whatever real tenableness, they went into semi-retirement most immediately later, staying out of the euphony picture until 1989, which saw the release of Chipping Sodbury Bonfire Tapes on their have Slap Up Records. The form of address was a grasp at Shocked, wHO had an album coroneted The Texas Campfire Tapes. Mower would shortly allow behind the band, delivery Kaos indorse to vocals and delivery in Beki on bass. The Live in Japan record album was recorded in 1991 (although it came out trey long time later), just after their tour of the eastern United States they would lose Chuck and put back him with Devilman. They as comfortably added a secondment guitar player, Vic (ex-Reagan Youth). This card would tone ending the Making Half a Killing record album concisely after (the championship is a play on some other Extreme Noise Terror split disc). 1993 saw the tone ending of One Hundred Percent Two Fingers in the Air on Century Media Records. New drummer Phil Thudd and unexampled bassist J. sign-language on for King for a Day (1996), Morning After the Night Before (1996), and Heard It, Seen It, Done It (1997), merely Devilman was noneffervescent in the stripe and even played on the albums piece Beki had since left hand. Members of the dance band began to start side projects, including A.D. Rice and the Wuzzuks, just they inactive released Total Chaos in 1999 and Chaos in Japan in 2001.

Cancer Researchers And Oncologists Offer A Clinical Trial For Multiple Myeloma Patients

Cancer researchers at George Mason University's Center for Applied Proteomics and Molecular Medicine ar studying the effects of experimental treatments on living tumor cells taken from multiple myeloma patients wHO are undergoing a routine diagnostic process.

The trial may resultant in the discovery of novel therapeutic targets for treatment of this incurable form of blood cancer expected to strike nearly 20,000 men and women this year.

CAPMM co-directors Lance Liotta and Emanuel Petricoin III are partnering with oncologists at Fairfax-Northern Virginia Hematology Oncology in a clinical programme for multiple myeloma patients to examine protein signal pathway activity in pathological cells and determine what type of drug interposition is required to forestall further growth of the disease.

"This is non a patient treatment trial," explains Liotta. "Instead, living cells from a biopsy are treated in culture immediately after being remote from the patient."

Trial participants will undergo a bone bone marrow biopsy, which is parting of the routine banner of concern practices for an existing or suspected multiple myeloma diagnosis. Once the berth procedure is performed, extra material not required for diagnosis is immediately preserved and taken to the CAPMM laboratories for analysis.

"Our information indicate that the protein signaling pathways that control cellular activity are different in each patient's tumor," Liotta says. "This novel trial testament test a large series of targeted inhibitors, alone and in unique combinations, which block key signaling pathways in the neoplasm cells. This is a key first base step toward true personalized therapy for multiple myeloma."

Currently, treatment of multiple myeloma is based on a one-size-fits-all approach that fails to consider the protein sign information, Petricoin adds. "Since this information underpins the growth and survival of the crab cells, we hypothesize that turning patient-specific signaling activation off will kill the tumor cells more effectively than the current intervention," he says. "In this initial study, we volition test hopeful new treatments that crataegus laevigata be candidates for Phase I or II clinical treatment research trials."

The research is funded by local philanthropist Chris Walker. "This is an exemplar of serendipity and opportunity, and that is what makes America a particular place -- where beneficial people and good ideas garner support from pluralistic sources," he says. "Cancer, in peculiar, needs some new ideas since the old approaches aren't working."

Multiple myeloma is a treatable progressive disease that attacks the plasma cell, a vital part of the immune system that produces antibodies to fight infection and disease. One of the leading causes of malignant neoplastic disease death among African Americans, it is the second base most rife blood genus Cancer in the United States and strikes more ofttimes in work force than women.

Patients interested in active in this multiple myeloma trial mustiness be referred by their physicians for an eligibility screening. For additional information contact Denise Campbell, Fairfax-Northern Virginia Hematology Oncology, at 703-280-5390.

During the early '80s, the American charts were subjected to what was known as the British invasion. Bands such as Duran Duran and Culture Club seemed to dominate. From this a new multiply of US new wave playact emerged among others: the Motels, Cyndi Lauper, 'Til Tuesday and Cock Robin. Led by singer/songwriter Peter Kingsbery, world Health Organization likewise played bass and keyboards, the band were complimented by vocalist Anna Lacazio, guitarist Clive Wright and drummer Louis Molino III. Like their contemporaries, Cock Robin mature immobile, releasing merely trine albums. On their first gear album arm, the quatern members look to copy the mix of romantacist art stone of Roxy Music and disco music funk of Chic, that Duran had non so long in front them. Lacazio looks like the proverbial senior high school prom queen, however by the fourth dimension of their final phonograph record in 1989, she had transformed into the sophisticated adult female ground on glossy style magazines. Their number one self highborn record album (CBS, 1985) produced by Steve Hillage, was the to the highest degree basic outing. Tracks like the opening 'Thought You Were On My Side' goo all the charm of a dance orchestra in the studio in concert for the number one time. The sparkling single 'The Promise You Made' became an instant hit in Europe - where they were to get immense - and gave them their merely British hit no.28 in May '86, though it did hang around for 12 weeks. Unbelievably, they fared little better at home - only no.35 with "When Your Heart is Weak." From this level on Cock Robin were essentially the duet of Kingsbery and Lacazio. (Mysteriously, Wright appears on every future album sans First Love... as a session player!) Opening their second album, After Here, Through Midland was its precursing single "Just Around the Corner," which once again did cypher other than in Europe where a steady fan base had reinforced up, especially in France. A grittier sound was discernible, a hallmark of producer Don Gehman (reknowned for his work with Jonh Mellencamp). Third, final and almost telling of Cock Robin's albums was 1989's First Love/Last Rites, this time down by vet producer Rhett Davies (Roxy, Eno, Icehouse). Guest musicians included drummer Pat Mastelotto (Mr. Mister, The Rembrandts and later on XTC and King Crimson!) and the Mariachi Horns wHO helped authenticate Latin pop/rock blend as featured on the gorgeous culmination single "Worlds Apart." Once once again, horse sense of blank was a promenant feature film of the album sleeve, which likewise boasted a verse form by US resistance writer Charles Bukowski. One more than single, "It's Only Make Believe," graced a superlative hits software system - a last word of farewell from a band that merited more attention. The Best of.. besides included a live performance of the Bob Dylan vocal "Don't Think Twice, It's Alright." In their wake, Kingsbery has gone on to produce 3 fine albums, immensely unlike to his previous work. In 1992, he contributed to Tim Rice's version of the stageplay Power, guesting alonside Cyndi Lauper, Nina Hagen, Celine Dion and Tom Jones to name a few. His outstanding vocal on "Merely the Very Best," showed merely what an underrated performing artist he is. A dishonor that as even so, his posh excursions have deceased unnoticed, other than by the French, wHO give known just now how salutary, both with Cock Robin and solo, a singer/songwriter Kingsbery has been all along.

2007 Australian Artist of the Year & Tourism Tasmania Make Wedding Dream Come True for American Couple

Borne's Cameron Tapp Travels 20,000 Miles to Perform Hit Single at Wedding
of #1 American Fan
Tourism Tasmania Gives Couple a Honeymoon of a Lifetime

FARGO, N.D., June 16 -- On Friday, June 13, Jessica Ihry
strolled down the aisle in Fargo, North Dakota, to wed fiance Matthew
Linback.

Off to the side of the altar, gently singing his hit song "The Guide"
was none other than Tasmanian musician Cameron Tapp, 2007 Australian Artist
of the Year and front man for the band, Borne.

The couple had fallen in love with this romantic tune after hearing it
on iTunes download of the week (the song hit #13 on the US digital
Billboard charts), and knew it was the perfect melody for their wedding
day.

Ihry sent an email to Borne's website requesting sheet music because
her wedding chapel did not permit the use of recorded music. In the
miraculous internet age, Tapp himself responded, indicating that there was
no sheet music, but he'd be happy to perform himself for the cost of his
transportation half-way around the world.

After a few days of thought, the couple decided to consolidate their
student loans and forego their honeymoon, to fly Tapp in for their special
day. This was Tapp's first solo live performance in the United States; an
industry showcase gig in Los Angeles at The Hotel Cafe is scheduled for
June 18th at 8 pm.

"The Guide is a song for those who still believe in love, wherever they
may be," explained Cameron Tapp.

"I may be the only international artist to make their American debut in
Fargo...but I can think of no better place and of no better venue!"

The heart-warming story sparked the interest of Tasmania's Minister for
Economic Development and Tourism, Paula Wriedt, who recognized this as an
opportunity to introduce Americans to this magically romantic island at the
edge of the world.

"Tasmania already has a reputation as the perfect destination for that
ultimate romantic getaway," said Ms. Wriedt. "We're helping to complete
their fairytale by offering the couple the ultimate romantic honeymoon --
in Tasmania."

The US is a key international market for Tourism Tasmania. In 2007,
more than 18,000 Americans visited our State, staying an average of more
than two weeks.

The designer died at his home on Sunday at the age of 71.

Hundreds of onlookers applauded as the designer's coffin made its way to the church, with the ceremony later relayed on giant screens.

Saint Laurent is famous for the designing the female trouser suit and most of the women, including Ms Bruni, at today's ceremony wore the iconic item of clothing.

The majority of Paris' designers were present at the funeral, including Christian Lacroix, Jean Paul Gaultier, John Galliano, Sonia and Nathalie Rykiel, Kenzo Takada, and Valentino.

Saint Laurent's former lover and long-time business partner, Pierre Berge, said of the famous designer: "He turned fashion on its head, making it socially relevant rather than merely aesthetic.

"With Saint Laurent, women ceased being merely clothes-horses or the objects of designer fantasies."
